Paralyze Me, Blue Light. April 5th, 2022

Exhaustion hits me like a brick

The tips of my glasses poke the back of my head

“Rest,” I think. “I need rest”

I sigh and sit on my bed

Tip tapping away at my phone

Caught in a fit of media paralysis

Needing a moment more of blue light exposure.

I put the dog in the crate

I put the dishwasher on

I listen to a few songs

I’m tired

My lungs deflate in exhaustion

I collapse on my bed

I write

My glasses cause my head to throw a fit

Breathe through it all

I am caught in a circle of tired

Paralyzed by the blue light on my screen.
